Select Board member Brian Herr is in the process of selling his Hayden Rowe Street home. But he made it clear that he has no plans to move out of town.
“I’m not going to leave Hopkinton,” he told the Independent in a phone interview Wednesday morning. “I’ve been in Hopkinton a long time. But with no kids in the home, it was time to downsize to a smaller property.”
Stressed Herr: “For 25 years, I’ve been all in on Hopkinton. That will not change when I move into a condo in town.”
He added that he sent emails to his Select Board colleagues when he put his house on the market “in case they had any questions.”
“The move will not affect my role on the Select Board,” he said. “I will still be a Hopkinton resident. You have to be a Hopkinton resident in order to serve in an elected town office.”
In his email to Select Board members about the move, he predicted that there would be some questions or rumors about his possibly leaving Hopkinton, he added.
He told the Independent that he wanted to allay residents’ concerns, noting there would be no changes to the Select Board because of the move.
