Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.
New members wanted to fill committee vacancies

The town issued a notice last week that a number of town boards and committees have current or upcoming vacancies. In total, there are 12 boards seeking members. These include the Appropriation Committee, the Board of Appeals, the Conservation Commission, the Historical Commission and the Cultural Council, among others.
A full list of the open committees can be found on the town website.
Both the Board of Appeals and the Historical Commission are seeking associate members. The Water & Sewer Advisory Board (WSAB), which was founded late last year, needs one additional member to round out its five-person board.
Residents who serve on these boards and committees have the opportunity to help shape and guide the town. The WSAB, for example, continues to advise the town on the ongoing Massachusetts Water Resources Authority connection project with Southborough. Likewise, boards like the Cultural Council help support public arts and other cultural programs in Hopkinton.
This latest call for volunteers is the second the town has issued this year. It advertised back in May that over 20 boards and committees were looking for new members. Some of those positions have been filled, while others remain vacant.
Members on the promoted boards require appointment by the Select Board. Any appointments would be made at an upcoming meeting. Additional information on each of the boards is available on the town’s board and committee database.
Residents interested in joining a board or committee are required to fill out an online volunteer form on the town website. Those with questions can contact Vasudha Dutta at the Town Manager’s Office at 508-497-9701.
