HPS to host Q&A session on new IEP program
Tonight, the Hopkinton Special Education Parent Advisory Council is hosting a virtual Q&A session all about the state’s new Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
Led by Hopkinton Public Schools Director of Student Services Abby Hanscom, the virtual session allows parents and caretakers the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback about the program.
A major change of the IEP program is a new form that promotes more student input relating to their educational goals, according to reporting by WBUR. Massachusetts schools were required to adopt this new form by fall 2024.
The school district hopes to hear from parents and caretakers about how the new IEP has impacted their students’ learning. The feedback will help educators “improve and ensure your student’s educational needs are fully met.”
The Q&A session begins at 7 p.m. tonight. Those interested in attending can access the event via Google Meet.
