Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.
The Hopkinton Police Department provided an update regarding its investigation into an incident from last month and its request for public assistance in identifying a vehicle of interest. On Jan. 22 at about 3 a.m., a 31-year-old man from Burlington was found lying in the road on East Main Street near Ray Street. Police are asking residents in the area for footage from home surveillance systems.
Hopkinton schools will be closed Friday due to a forecast that calls for freezing rain in the morning, Superintendent Carol Cavanaugh announced Thursday night.
The monthly Veterans Breakfast, scheduled for this morning, has been postponed due to the weather. The breakfast will be held next Friday, Feb. 11.
At its meeting Wednesday night, the Upper Charles Trail Committee addressed feedback it has received about its trail proposal and discussed ways to better connect with the public about its goals and ideas. UCTC Chair Jane Moran explained that the committee has “just begun a process” and is receptive to all opinions.
This week’s adoptable animal from Baypath Humane Society is a 2-year-old cat named Ireland who loves having cat friends and is looking for a home with one.
