Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.

Hopkinton teachers and supporters rallied Thursday prior to the School Committee meeting in the Hopkinton High School auditorium. The teachers oppose cuts to the special education staff. Check back Friday for a recap of the meeting.

Leading off this week’s Independent Thoughts, the town lost a Hopkinton legend with last month’s passing of Mary Harrington.
