Hopkinton Today: Monday, March 1

by | Mar 1, 2021 | Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.

The presentation at Thursday’s School Committee meeting about the proposal to reopen Hopkinton schools on a full-time basis starting March 29 has generated a lot of discussion in town. A public forum is scheduled for this Thursday night.

Hopkinton High School principal Evan Bishop announced that the junior prom has been postponed to next year, while there are a few outdoors events planned to recognize the senior class, including a car parade this May.

The town’s latest COVID-19 update shows a bump in local cases to 24 but also includes news that the state is loosening restrictions starting today, as the reopening plan moves to Step 2 of Phase 3.

The town on Friday released a construction update for the Main Street Corridor Project, indicating that signage is due to be installed the week of March 8, with actual project work anticipated to begin the following week.

Town meetings tonight include the Planning Board (7).
