Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.
It was an eventful weekend for Hopkinton High School athletics. The girls volleyball team aced its first real test of the postseason on Friday night, turning away Westwood, 3-0, to advance to the Division 2 state semifinals. Boys soccer saw its season come to a close Saturday evening with a 3-2 loss at West Springfield in the Division 2 quarterfinals. Girls cross country finished second at the Division 1B championship meet on Saturday to advance to next weekend’s All-State championship.
The Town of Hopkinton has a number of job openings, including Senior Services Department administrative assistant, police officers, maintenance mechanic, principal assessor and library assistants, and application deadlines are approaching.
The town will hold a tax classification public hearing during Tuesday’s Select Board meeting. The hearing will determine the percentage of local tax levy to be borne by each class of real and personal property.
Town meetings tonight include the Sustainable Green Committee (4), Board of Health (5:30), Planning Board (7) and Board of Library Trustees (7).
