Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation recently held a virtual meeting detailing the beginning of the construction phase in December of the remodeled interchange between Interstate 495 and Interstate 90, which straddles Hopkinton and Westborough. As part of the project, one of Hopkinton’s two Fruit Street bridges is being reconstructed (the other also is being redesigned). The area currently is closed to traffic and will remain so for a few more months, MassDOT said.
The Hopkinton Health Department is offering weekly clinics for ages 6 and older to receive the Moderna bivalent COVID booster shot. The clinics are being held on Tuesdays from 4-6 p.m. at the Nurse’s Office in the lower level of Town Hall.
The newest Police Log includes one arrest along with reports of wayward hitchhiker, damaged mailboxes and vandalized Christmas decorations.
This week’s Hiller’s Thrillers Athlete Spotlight shines on unified basketball player Jack Malone, who is the team’s longest-tenured athlete at four seasons.
The latest Business Profile highlights Hopkinton WIne & Spirits, which has gotten a complete refresh under its new owners.
Town meetings tonight include the School Committee (7) and Open Space Preservation Commission (7).
