Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.
The Josh Fischer Express kept chugging along Monday, as the senior left-hander led the Hopkinton High School baseball team to a 2-0 victory over host Milton in Monday’s Division 2 South sectional final. Hopkinton will play D2 North champion St. Mary’s in the state championship game later this week.
Michael Sullivan, head of the Psychology Department at Hopkinton High School, has had a remarkable career over the past four decades. He is one of a few Hopkinton Public Schools employees to announce their retirement this summer.
Old Town Road, the original settlers roadway between Mendon and Hopkinton, is a forgotten relic of our pioneering ancestors. Walking through this area today, we find that the stone walls and roads they built, the foundations they laid and the wells from which they drank are still there for us to see.
