by | Oct 17, 2023 | Featured: Features, Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

With early release days at Hopkinton schools leading to problems downtown over the past year, the Hopkinton Police Department is offering a potential solution, hosting an Early Release Hangout this Friday from noon until 2 p.m. at the Town Common.

As part of the Main Street Corridor Project this week, crews will focus on site cleanup and “punch list” work. Road Safe is scheduled to be on-site for signs (resetting, removing and replacing). Work is scheduled for Saturday, and police details will be on-site directing traffic during this work

The annual Tom McIntyre Turkey Bowl is expanding this year and is seeking teams. The 6-vs.-6, one-handed touch football tournament is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 24, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Town meetings tonight include the Parks & Recreation Commission (5:30), Commissioners of Trust Funds (5:30) and Select Board (6).

Photo of the Day: A motor vehicle accident on East Main Street closed the road for some time Monday morning. According to the Hopkinton Fire Department, the driver was extricated after being trapped and was transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center.
