Longtime Hopkinton resident Russ Phipps celebrated his 100th birthday Tuesday morning with a surprise drive-by celebration featuring vehicles from the town’s Police Department, Fire Department and Department of Public Works.

The 24-year-old who died in a crash on an icy Interstate 495 in Hopkinton on Christmas Eve morning was identified Tuesday as Ryan Gaudet, a corrections officer who lived in Framingham.
