Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.
The Parks & Recreation Department, during Monday’s Parks & Rec Commission meeting, discussed plans to push forward with the redevelopment of the skate park at the EMC Park at a cost of $300,000. There will be a meeting coming up to address the project “within the next 30 days,” according to Parks & Recreation Department coordinator Jennifer Hart.
Hopkinton High School sophomore Owen Fitzpatrick’s photo collage of his mother during her battle with cancer is a reminder of a challenging time for the family, and it earned him a silver key for a second place finish in the Scholastic Art & Writing awards.
An email Monday from Hopkinton Public Schools indicated that students can be added to buses following an update to guidelines from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
This week’s Police Log features an arrest on a warrant charge along with reports of a missing Hopkins School student who was located and returned, multiple car break-ins and a decommissioned town truck incurring another complaint.
