by | Oct 16, 2024 | Featured: Features, Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

After a week of confusion regarding the taking of anti-gas station yard signs on multiple streets, the town’s building inspector confirmed that it was his office behind the removal.

High adventure was the theme of the summer for Boy Scout troops in Hopkinton. Troop 1 and Troop 4 explored the wilderness on opposite coasts, challenging themselves and building lifelong skills along the way.

This week’s Move in Style Athlete Spotlight shines on junior Mary Finnegan, a forward on the HHS field hockey team who creates a lot of scoring opportunities, recording four goals and two assists in the team’s first 12 games.

This week’s Senior Snippets features information on an informational session about e-books, a Halloween costume party and a program about Thanksgiving traditions in Boston.

James J. Jordan, 87, of Hopkinton passed away Oct. 13. Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Eleanor (Viennese) and James Jordan. He was the husband of 51 years to Christine (Collins) Jordan of Hopkinton.

This week’s Business Profile features Boston Honey Company, a farm store in Holliston using honey sourced from over 3,500 colonies of bees across Eastern Massachusetts & New York to produce artisanal honeys, beeswax candles and honey-based skin products.

The Hopkinton Trails Club will host a group walk at College Rock this Saturday at 1 p.m.

Photo of the Day: Troop 1 Boy Scout Ragav Jeevanatham (on ramp) poses with volunteers Muthu Jevvanatham, Ganga Yerramsetti, Karen Bograd, Mac Rangwala and Ravi Jana during his Eagle Scout Service Project, which oversaw the planning and building of training steps for dogs waiting for adoption at the Greyhound Friends shelter on Saddle Hill Road.
