Hopkinton Today: Wednesday, Oct. 5

by | Oct 5, 2022 | Featured: Features, Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.

The Hopkinton Board of Health at its meeting Monday evening unanimously approved a change to Hopkinton’s tobacco regulation policy, calling for a three-day permit suspension for an establishment’s first violation for selling tobacco or vaping products to minors.

Homeowners in need of a fall yard cleanup can sign up for a charity fundraiser for Project Just Because. A group of at least four volunteers will rake and bag leaves for payment that will be donated to PJB.

The Hopkinton Garden Club’s Speaker Series continues on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 7:30 p.m. with a presentation from Gretel Anspach on pruning basics. Attendees will learn about the science behind when, how and why to prune woody plants, and be able to determine which plants can be pruned by a home gardener and which require the services of a professional.

Town meetings tonight include the Hopkinton Historic District Commission (7:30).

Photo of the Day: The Hopkinton Charity Golf Event, sponsored by the Hopkinton Emergency Fund and Hopkinton Women’s Club, was held Sept. 26 at Shining Rock Golf Club in Northbridge.
