I am writing to support Nasiba Mannan for reelection to the Hopkinton Board of Health on May 18.
Nasiba has served on the board for three years and currently chairs it. In that time she has stayed on top of the public health issues that matter to our town, including contagious disease response, preventive care, air quality monitoring and protecting our health services from federal budget cuts to food and vaccine assistance. She has helped modernize the Health Department by moving it to electronic records and expanding local vaccination efforts, and she has worked to keep health standards strong across our businesses, schools and public events. Hopkinton’s Health Department is considered a model in Massachusetts, and Nasiba has played a real part in keeping it that way.
She is extremely qualified for the role. She holds a master’s degree in public health and has 20 years of experience as a health care regulations and compliance executive, so she understands the regulatory environment at both the town and state level. She is also a serial volunteer who has contributed to many causes.
What I can add from my own experience is this: Nasiba is a genuinely warm and deeply caring person. She makes you feel welcome, and she has a real gift for communicating and collaborating with anyone she works with. She is also someone who is always learning, which is why she stays current on the questions facing our town and explains them to residents in a way that is clear and easy to follow.
Please join me in voting to reelect Nasiba Mannan on May 18.
— Sravana Krishna, Hopkinton
