Letter to the Editor: Mannan for Select Board

by | May 6, 2025 | Letter to Editor

I am proud to endorse Shahidul Mannan for reelection to the Hopkinton Select Board. Over the past three years, Shahidul has proven himself as a thoughtful, results-driven leader with a deep commitment to the future of our town. His track record speaks volumes — from championing PFAS remediation and clean water initiatives to successfully advocating for senior tax relief and the launch of Hopkinton’s first Economic Development Office. His unique blend of technical expertise and financial acumen, built on a career in health care technology and a background in engineering and finance, has brought steady, data-informed leadership to some of our town’s most pressing challenges.

Shahidul’s vision of “One Hopkinton” reflects his dedication to building a vibrant, inclusive community where everyone can thrive. His leadership helped secure key hires across our public safety and town departments, brought progress to school infrastructure, and guided Hopkinton through significant growth with fiscal responsibility and strategic foresight. As we look toward continued development, rising costs and the needs of a growing senior population, Shahidul’s collaborative approach and deep institutional knowledge are exactly what we need. I encourage you to join me in voting for Shahidul Mannan on May 19 to ensure Hopkinton remains strong, welcoming and prepared for the future.

— M. Elyse Barrett Mihajloski, Hopkinton
