Letter to the Editor: McSweeney for Select Board

by | May 15, 2024 | Letter to Editor

Dear Hopkinton residents,

I am writing with enthusiastic support for Kyla McSweeney to the Hopkinton Select Board. She is dedicated to public service and has been dedicating her time to the public for 30 years! Professionally, Kyla is the director of comprehensive system supports at the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. The skills she has developed in regulatory compliance, budget, contract and grant management are needed on our Select Board. Kyla demonstrates dedication to Hopkinton with her history serving on the Cemetery Commission over the past five years. As the mother of a child with special needs, I trust that Kyla will continue to prioritize our most vulnerable students — she also understands the complexities of navigating our public systems when your child needs extra supports. Kyla is thoughtful when discussing the complex issues facing our community. Her legal background and familiarity interacting with confidential materials is valuable, especially at this moment in time. Kyla’s investment in Hopkinton is palpable as she discusses the issues most pressing to her, such as giving Hopkinton residents a voice, attracting and maintaining qualified town employees and working on difficult budgetary matters. Kyla’s point of view is established, but I have found she will engage in conversation with anyone, being open to listening and considering ideas to ensure she is making the best possible decisions for our town. She and her family have recently built a new home in Hopkinton; she has put down roots and is invested in Hopkinton’s success. I look forward to voting for Kyla on May 20. Please join me, you will also be proud to cast your vote for Kyla McSweeney.

— Jamie Wronka, Hopkinton

Letter to the Editor: Bring back old Main Street

Letter to the Editor: Town must balance character, finances
