Letter to the Editor: Mimmo for Select Board

by | Apr 30, 2024 | Letter to Editor

I have enjoyed the pleasure and the privilege of getting to know Peter Mimmo as a good friend and neighbor. Peter currently serves on the Hopkinton Board of Assessors, and he has been a very positive influence there. He has decided to run for Hopkinton Select Board. The town would indeed be very fortunate to have Peter on the Select Board. Please allow me to explain why.

1. Peter has dedicated his entire career to public service. He is an attorney and has worked for the State of Massachusetts for many years.

2. He has raised two children who have attended Hopkinton Public Schools, and he specifically moved here to allow his sons to have the benefit of our excellent public schools. As a Select Board member, Peter would have a parent’s perspective on education issues.

3. Peter’s expertise is employment law. His experience in this area spans many years, and it would be of immense benefit to Hopkinton due to the ongoing personnel issues the Select Board is currently facing.

4. Peter is also interested in economic development, and he would be a positive influence in helping to guide our town’s future development in a sensitive manner that addresses residents’ concerns about the impact of rapid growth on our town.

5. Most importantly, Peter is an honest, caring person who is a good listener and dedicated public servant. He would be a voice for all of us. His integrity and moral standards would never allow him to cater to special interests. A perfect example of this is his stated plan to hold open office hours at convenient times that anyone in town could avail themselves of.

If you want a dedicated, caring and sincere person who is devoted to public service, Peter Mimmo is the best choice for Select Board.

— Glen Dawson, Hopkinton

Letter to the Editor: Town leaders need to explain actions

I write following up my comments at the March 3 Select Board meeting, which I made with respect to the Select Board’s executive session on Jan. 30, 2018. That session was attended by, I believe, 13 individuals, including Peter Sismanis, his attorney, town counsel,...

Letter to the Editor: Scoop your dog’s poop
