Letter to the Editor: Ronan for School Committee

by | Jun 8, 2020 | Letter to Editor

I am writing to show my support for Dawn Ronan for School Committee.

I truly believe there is no one more suited for this than Dawn. I have watched her wholeheartedly dedicate her time to everything that has anything to do with making the absolute best learning environment for our children. She has selflessly given countless days/hours to the causes that mean most to her, our community, the schools, our teaching staff and our children. She takes all the necessary steps to ensure that she is fully educated and has all the information needed on every topic that she stands behind. She does not just get pieces of statistics but fully immerses herself into having everything she needs to move forward. I have never talked to anyone who has a better understanding of our school system and our needs. I will also say that I have been lucky enough to have gone through the Hopkinton school system myself and beyond thankful that my children are doing the same. I truly believe that our committee needs someone like Dawn to represent what is best for us moving forward as there has been so much change, both good and bad, and I believe that Dawn will work tirelessly to represent the needs of all involved. You can be assured that anyone would be hard-pressed to find a better candidate with more knowledge and willingness to dedicate her time and efforts where they are needed.

Dawn is also a friend of mine and I can speak to her nature and character. She is loyal to a fault. She will drop everything and be there for you without even asking. I unfortunately had to endure a horrible, tragic, sudden loss in our family, and I can tell you that I would not have gotten through it without her. Nothing ever had to be spoken or asked, she just did all she could. She is dedicated, she is trustworthy and she is committed. She is someone who does not back away from something that might be cumbersome or take what some people might call “too much effort.” She instead will remain steadfast and move forward for the benefit of the cause.

I have never encountered anyone more dedicated to the betterment of our children and our community. Our town and overall community would be fortunate to have her as an advocate for all involved.

— Hope Sheehan, Hopkinton

Letter to the Editor: Town leaders need to explain actions

I write following up my comments at the March 3 Select Board meeting, which I made with respect to the Select Board’s executive session on Jan. 30, 2018. That session was attended by, I believe, 13 individuals, including Peter Sismanis, his attorney, town counsel,...

Letter to the Editor: Scoop your dog’s poop
