Museum of Bad Art: In the Mood

Massachusetts’ Museum of Bad Art collects, exhibits and celebrates art that will be seen in no other venue. MOBA interprets the art, compares it to classic art, and shares the adventure of building MOBA to a worldwide phenomenon. This is art too bad to be ignored! Register via the library website.

Plants as Muse: Mugwort with Nora Toomey
Tuesday, March 22, 7 p.m. (Zoom)
Mugwort, or Artemisia vulgaris, is a plant that is woven so deeply into the folklore and mythology of countless cultures around the world. It is an ancient plant, rich with story, magic and medicine. In this one-hour class, attendees will explore the imagery, deities, planetary rulings and magical properties associated with mugwort. Participants then will be led through creative prompts inspired by mugwort that will unleash their own storytelling, poem-writing or art-making power! Attendees should bring a notebook along with painting, drawing or collage supplies. The first 20 registrants will be able to pick up a pouch of mugwort from the library so they can continue their creative dance with this marvelous plant. Register via the library website.
