The Hopkinton Lions Club held their fourth annual Santa’s Special Kids Breakfast at Golden Pond Assisted Living last month to provide a special holiday event for children with special needs. This event, started three years ago by Anne Beauchamp of Hopkinton, seeks to provide a special holiday afternoon for children with physical, mental and emotional difficulties. The event is specifically designed to be quiet, with no bright lights or music, and provides the children the opportunity to meet Santa in a low-stress, warm and loving environment.

Santa spoke with the children and sat for pictures, taken by Christine Snow of Sunshine Photography. Families were provided delicious snowman cookies donated by Starbucks in Hopkinton. Hot chocolate was provided by The Muffin House in Medway. Children were able to write letters to Santa while enjoying the snowman cookies and hot chocolate. More than 16 families attended.

The Hopkinton Lions Club would like to send a very special thank you to Golden Pond Assisted Living, Christine Snow of Sunshine Photography, Starbucks in Hopkinton, The Muffin House in Medway, Anne Beauchamp, and of course Santa, for their support and donations.
