Main Street Corridor Project update: Brick strip installation continues along corridor

The town’s latest Main Street Corridor Project update released Friday noted that brick strip installation by A.F. Amorello & Sons, the project’s construction company, will continue during the upcoming week.

Drainage structures in front of Town Hall will be adjusted this week. Overhead utility line transfer work will continue on the west side of the project.

Eversource crews have been performing the preliminary work associated with the transformers, which should be completed within the next month. All 12 transformers have been installed. Shifting power lines from being overhead to underground should begin in late September or early October.

This schedule may change due to weather and existing conditions found while performing these tasks. This work may impact traffic and require lane and sidewalk closures, limiting access to driveways and entrances to businesses. Detours and alternating traffic patterns may be used as necessary.
