Main Street Corridor Project update: Full-depth excavation continues, detours all week

As part of the Main Street Corridor Project this week, construction crews will continue the full-depth excavation on the sidewalks and roadway on the east side of the project along with placement of gravel and dense graded crushed stone. The eastbound detour from Grove Street to Maple Street to Hayden Rowe will be used from Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m.-5 p.m., and additional detours will be used as needed.

Two-way traffic on Walcott Street will be allowed when the detour is in place. School buses and emergency vehicles will be allowed through the detour. Message boards will be set up to provide detour information.

On the west side of the project, workers will continue to grade, form and pour concrete sidewalks from the Route 135/Route 85 intersection toward West Main Street.

This schedule may change due to weather and existing conditions found while performing the planned tasks. For the most up-to-date information, visit the town’s project website at hopkintonmainstreet.com.
