Main Street Corridor Project update: Main Street paving this week; detours planned

by | May 21, 2023 | Business, News

Main Street eastbound detour

As part of the Main Street Corridor Project this week, crews will begin the paving of Main Street from the Muffin House Cafe to Ray Street. The work is anticipated to take three days and is weather dependent. To expedite the work, public safety has approved a 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. workday for Monday through Saturday.

Temporary paving markings may be done prior to the long weekend; if not, temporary tape will be installed.

The eastbound detour from Grove Street to Maple Street to Hayden Rowe Street will be used from Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Additional detours may be used as needed.

Two-way traffic on Walcott Street will be allowed when the detour is in place. School buses and emergency vehicles will be allowed through the detour. Message boards will be set up to provide detour information.

This schedule may change due to weather and existing conditions found while performing the planned tasks. For the most up-to-date information, visit the town’s project website at hopkintonmainstreet.com.
