Margaret Moriarty

Margaret M. (Galvin) Moriarty, 93, the wife of the late Tim Moriarty, died Jan. 24 in Springfield. She was born in Ireland, the daughter of John and Ellen (O’Sullivan) Galvin, and had lived in Manchester, Connecticut, before moving to her home in Ludlow.

Margaret formerly served as a registered nurse for over 50 years. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially when they were together for a family dinner enjoying her mighty good corn beef dinner. She had a tremendous pride in her Irish heritage and loved Irish music.

Margaret is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Marilyn Moriarty and Colin Knox of Hopkinton, and Noreen and Tadhg O’Sullivan of Ludlow; and her grandchildren, Justine Kiely and her husband, Chris, and their son Liam, Kevin Moriarty and his wife, Emily, Mairead O’Sullivan, Fiona O’Sullivan and Moira O’Sullivan. She also was predeceased by her son Timothy Moriarty.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Jan. 27 at St. Bridget Church in Manchester, Connecticut, followed by burial in St. James Cemetery. For online condolences visit tierneyfuneralhome.com.
