Mary Bertschmann

Mary Ellen (Hession) Bertschmann passed away peacefully at her home of 50 years in Sherborn on May 30. She was 86 and had been surrounded by her loving husband, three sons, three daughters-in-law and 10 grandchildren.

Mary was a loving, caring and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was known for her sense of humor, her love of life, and enjoying happy hour by a warm fire. Some of her favorite times were spent with family in their house on Cape Cod and on casino vacations in the Bahamas. Mary also was a passionate sports mom and an amazing artist. Her paintings have been seen on exhibit and lovingly adorn the walls of her and her families’ homes.

Mary is survived by her husband, Peter, of Sherborn; son Christopher and wife Jean of Hopkinton, and their daughters, Samantha (Boston), Madeline (New York), Sarah (Brighton) and Molly (Hopkinton); son Gregory and wife Kathryn of Scituate, and their children, Kelly Chamblin and husband William (Dover), Kevin (Norwell), Kristan (New York) and Holly (Boston); and son Timothy and wife Ashley of Walpole, and their children, Lilly (Walpole) and Jack (Walpole).

A private graveside service will take place with family at Pine Hill Cemetery in Sherborn. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sherborn Fire Department, 22 North Main St., Sherborn MA. 01770 Arrangements are under the care of the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston.
