Middle school principal among new hires announced by district

by | Jul 1, 2022 | Education, Featured: Education

Superintendent Carol Cavanaugh on Friday announced the hiring of a new principal for Hopkinton Middle School. Matthew Lefebvre has been hired after serving as an assistant principal at Westborough High School for the past decade.

Lefebvre, who began his career as a music educator, will host listening tours for faculty and families in the near future, Cavanaugh shared in an email to the school community.

Jeffrey LaBroad was hired as assistant superintendent following his appearance before the School Committee last week. LaBroad previously worked as principal of Sudbury’s Josiah Haynes Elementary School. A holder of three degrees from Boston College, LaBroad began his career as a Grade 4 teacher.

Kiely Murray will be the interim athletic director at the high school. Murray has spent the past 13 years working as a school counselor and coach in Hopkinton. She is a registered athletic administrator with an educational background in organizational management, counseling psychology and educational leadership.

“Kiely is particularly passionate about mental performance and educational athletics,” Cavanaugh shared. “She is eager to continue supporting student-athletes from a new vantage point and to continue the strong tradition of Hiller athletics.”

More positions remain to be filled.
