Midweek ramp closures at I-90/I-495 interchange start Tuesday night

by | Oct 11, 2026 | News

More overnight ramp closures at the Interstate 90/Interstate 495 interchange in Hopkinton will take place this week starting Tuesday and continuing into Thursday, according to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.

Starting Tuesday night, MassDOT plans to shut down the I-495 northbound ramp to Route 9 eastbound (Exit 59A). The closure is planned for 10 p.m.-5 a.m. each night.

While the closure is in place, traffic is scheduled to detour to Route 9 westbound (Exit 59B) in order to reverse direction back to I-495 southbound. Drivers then can access Route 9 eastbound (Exit 59A) from there.

Appropriate signage and law enforcement details will be in place. Drivers should anticipate delays and exercise caution while traveling through work zones.

For more information on traffic conditions, drivers can visit the Mass511 website, which features travel times and real-time traffic.
