Rita Winchenbach

Rita Ann Winchenbach, 82, of Hopkinton and a former longtime resident of Ashland, passed away June 9. She was the wife of the late Jay Winchenbach and daughter of the late John and Josephine (Pascucci) Tennaro. Rita worked as an executive secretary for Fenwall Corp. in Ashland for many years, retiring in 2000. She was a longtime member of St. Cecilia Parish in Ashland.

Mrs. Winchenbach is survived by her brother, John “Jack” Tennaro, and his wife, Karen, of Milford, cousins Josephine “Jo” Foster of Hopkinton and Rosalie Pavia and her husband Edward of Dennis, sister-in-law Lynn Winchenbach, brother-in-law Walter Winchenbach and his wife, Anne, nephews John Tennaro and Matthew Tennaro and his wife, Abby, nieces Marisa Consigli and her husband, Andrew, and Maria Farragher and her husband, David, and several additional nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

A funeral mass was celebrated June 12 at St. Cecilia’s. Funeral services were under the care of Matarese Funeral Home of Ashland (mataresefuneral.com).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen St., Suite 250, Framingham, MA 01701, or via cancer.org.
