Robert Tyler

Robert L Tyler, 78, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and formerly of Hopkinton, passed away May 15. Born Feb. 24, 1944, in Brookline, he was a son of the late Wesley and Irene (nee Long) Tyler. He was a member of Waynedale United Methodist Church. He retired in 2006 after more than 30 years of service at General Motors and was a longtime member of United Auto Workers Local 2209.

He is survived by his daughter, Suzie (James) Rattie; sons, Jeffrey (Amanda) and Christopher Tyler; grandchildren, Kyle and Alex Rattie, Ellie and Emily Tyler, and Vanessa Penell; brother, David Tyler; and sister-in-law, Barbara Burnham. He also was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Wendy A Tyler, in 2019; and granddaughter, Kayla Nicole Tyler.

Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana, with calling from 1 p.m. until time of service. Memorial donations may be given to Shepherd’s House, Fort Wayne. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared with the Tyler family at mccombandsons.com.
