Hopkinton Middle School student Abnishek Vijay finished 11th out of 100 students in the National Geographic GeoBee state championship on March 29 at Elms College in Chicopee.
Vijay won the HMS competition and then had to take a test to earn a spot in the state GeoBee. This was his second straight appearance.
The GeoBee is a national competition designed to motivate students to learn about the world and how it works.
