Harold Schmidt

Harold D. Schmidt, 84, of Hopkinton passed away Sept. 8. Born in Paterson, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Marion (Koss) Schmidt and Herbert D. Schmidt. He was the husband of 52 years to the late Carolyn (Prosser) Schmidt.

Harold was a veteran of the Army National Guard and was a competitive shooter in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He was a chemical engineer and the president and co-owner of Teampron Products. Harold was an avid member of Rusty Nails Train Club and Tanheath Hunt Club. He was an accomplished painter, just like his father.

Harold is survived by three children, Dana Rebecca Kalipolites and her husband, Gary, Robert David William and his wife, Heather, and Doris Marie Schmidt and her husband, Jay Mullen. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Zina Misurelli and husband Tony, Athena Kalipolites, Brandon William, Dylan William, Richard Schaefer and wife Elizabeth, Tanner Mullen and Kensey Mullen, and three great-grandchildren, Kyrah, Hannah and Montgomery. He is predeceased by his brother, Edward Schmidt.

A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 11, at 49 Frankland Road in Hopkinton. A Arrangements are under the care of the Chesmore Funeral Home of Hopkinton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association (heart.org) or the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org).
