At a brief meeting Thursday night, the School Committee voted not to participate in school choice for the 2022-23 school year.
Hopkinton traditionally does not participate in the program, which would allow students from other districts to enter the local schools. The student’s district would be responsible for the associated costs.
“In theory I would like to be able to open our doors, but in reality I know that we just don’t have room,” said School Committee Member Amanda Fargiano.
Fargiano and Chair Nancy Cavanaugh were the only two members at the meeting. Because the committee currently has only three members, they constituted a quorum.
