Main Street Corridor Project update: Detour continues this week

by | Jul 10, 2022 | Featured: News, News

As part of the Main Street Corridor Project, roadway reconstruction will continue this week on Main Street from the Fire Station and the Wood Street intersection. A single lane of alternating traffic will be used as needed, and eastbound traffic will be detoured from Main Street to Pleasant Street to Hayden Rowe Street and back to Main Street.

During the eastbound detour, Walcott Street will be open to two-way traffic to allow access via Cedar Street. Main Street will be opened at the end of the day to at least one lane of alternating traffic. At that time, Walcott Street will revert to one-way traffic.

Work will continue on the Verizon conduit from Church Street moving westbound toward the Route 135/Route 85 intersection. Eastbound traffic will be detoured as referenced above.

Work also will continue on the wall at 15-17 Main Street and on the concrete retaining will in the CVS parking lot area.

This schedule may change due to weather and existing conditions found while performing the planned tasks. For the most up-to-date information, visit the town’s project website at hopkintonmainstreet.com.
