Hopkinton Today: Wednesday, Oct. 12

by | Oct 12, 2022 | Featured: Features, Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.

Leading off the Select Board roundup, the town is addressing concerns that the newly redesigned section of Main Street just east of Wood Street now is too narrow to allow for emergency vehicles to pass through traffic. Also, the board voted to make minor updates to the town’s Boston Marathon charity bib distribution policy.

Hopkinton High School girls cross country coach Jean Cann thinks her team probably caught Holliston by surprise when the two tangled in a Tri-Valley League meet this fall. The Hillers graduated two seniors from their top five a season ago and have just one senior in the top seven.

Hopkinton High School’s boys cross country team is in the midst of a strong season, and coach Laura McKenzie says it’s because her captains know that success in this sport starts well before the first starting gun sounds.

Town meetings tonight include the Capital Improvement Committee (6), Housing Authority (6) and Zoning Advisory Committee (7).
