Select Board supports SOI for Elmwood
The Select Board approved the Hopkinton Public Schools’ intention to submit a statement of interest (SOI) to the Massachusetts School Building Authority in a bid to be accepted into the MSBA’s reimbursement program for a new building to replace Elmwood School.
The School Committee previously had supported the decision to submit an SOI for Elmwood for the seventh time. The most recent SOI was denied in January.
“We’ve done this every single year, and it’s a no-brainer,” Select Board chair Brendan Tedstone said at the board’s Feb. 25 meeting, adding. “I pray that we do get called in and get accepted to this, because we really do need this.”

“I have observed that many students lack prompt rides back home, and I solved this problem by designing a simple app that unites the school as a community,” she explained.
