DPW urges caution as roadwork, paving begins on 4 streets

by | Aug 12, 2024 | News

Department of Public Works Director Kerry Reed announced Monday morning that roadwork and paving is scheduled to start today for the following streets:

  • Blackthorne Circle
  • Deer Run
  • Cold Spring Brook Road
  • Stonegate Road

Work will take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Although vehicles will be able to get in and out of the property, the DPW is encouraging everyone to avoid the area to allow the construction equipment to complete the needed work. Parking on the street in this area will interfere with the roadwork.

Reed urged drivers to use caution, as structures will be raised above the existing pavement during roadwork. She thanked people in advance for their cooperation.

In a follow-up email to the Independent, Reed explained that “the road work is from now until Aug 29, weather dependent.  The work includes adjusting structures, reclaiming asphalt, grading, binder course paving, and top course paving. The different tasks occur on different days on different roads.”
