Parks & Rec updates purchasing policies for Sandy Beach passes

by | Apr 3, 2025 | News

The Parks & Recreation Department has announced new changes in the way residents purchase season passes for Sandy Beach.

In a recent notice, Parks & Rec informed residents that season passes no longer will be available for purchase or pickup from any of the Sandy Beach attendants. Instead, residents are directed to the Parks & Rec website to purchase their required pass.

“Passes purchased online are to be picked up at the Parks and Recreation office,” the notice reads. Residents have the option to get their beach passes mailed to them, but they must be ordered before May 19. Additionally, those interested have the option to purchase their pass at the Parks & Rec office directly.

The cost of certain pass options has changed as well. Additional family stickers for a season pass — which can be used for a second car — now are $25. Daily passes are $15 per family, and daily passes for boat trailers are $50.

The change in Parks & Rec’s Sandy Beach policies follows a meeting of the Parks & Rec Commission on Feb. 27. During that meeting, all members agreed to nominal increases in some of the beach fees while maintaining others. The additional revenue is intended for maintaining the town beach and critical repair work.
