Letter to the Editor: Mannan for Select Board

by | May 6, 2025 | Letter to Editor

I am writing to endorse Shahidul Mannan for reelection to our Select Board. Well, what does one seek in a Select Board member? Someone who can be a true representative of our community, who shares the same views for areas of improvement, who can connect with every demographic and shares the same sense of value and purpose for this wonderful and diverse town. Our current Select Board member, Shahidul Mannan, embodies all of that — he and his family genuinely care about their surroundings, have demonstrated compassion to drive changes, and have dedicated themselves to go out of their comfort zone and devote time to service the community.

While serving as a Select Board member over the last few years, Shahidul has had several accomplishments in areas that range from bringing an economic balance to ensure progress while preventing high taxation, to identifying means to improve living standards for the senior community in Hopkinton. He has proven that he is invested in the greater good and makes himself accessible, and his knowledge and experience keep him in good stead.

For all of these reasons, in the coming years, as Hopkinton continues to encounter issues concerning education, the impact of population growth, tax revenue and overall public safety, Shahidul’s qualifications and qualities make him the right choice to be reelected to our Select Board on May 19.
