Letter to the Editor: Doyle for Select Board

by | May 16, 2025 | Letter to Editor

I am writing this letter to ask you to vote for Jeff Doyle and his ideals to become a member of the Hopkinton Select Board. Like many others who have written to endorse Jeff, I have known him for a very long time. To be honest, I’ve known him since the July Fourth day he was born and am proud to say he is my godson.

Jeff is, and always has been, an open book. He has lamented the frequency that he has been asked since he started running about his motivation. As he always says, Jeff’s reason for running is to do public service for the town in which he has chosen to live. Hopkinton is a great place to live and has only been enhanced by those who have joined our community. Jeff chose to return to Hopkinton with his wife with the intent of raising a family in this great atmosphere.

To me, the hallmark of Jeff’s service is his commitment to the Live4Evan Foundation. No recognition, no “glory,” just hard work for sick children and their families. Having watched Jeff grow up, I can attest that he was not a runner. But he trained incredibly hard to be able to participate in many fundraising races, including the Falmouth Road Race and the Boston Marathon, raising tens of thousands of dollars.

This is the type of commitment to service you can expect from Jeff if elected.

— Mark Stickney, Hopkinton

Letter to the Editor: Main Street barrel racing
