Main Street Corridor Project update: Amorello to begin paving Monday

by | Nov 15, 2025 | Featured: News, News

The latest update for the Main Street Corridor Project released Friday details plans for A.F. Amorello & Sons to begin paving next week.

Amorello is scheduled to pave the west side of the project Monday and Tuesday. The Hopkinton Police Department has approved extended lane closures between 7 a.m.-5 p.m.

Alternating traffic patterns and detours will be in place, and residents should expect delays. Emergency vehicles will be allowed through the detour and have access to driveways as necessary. Once paving is complete, further lane closures will be restricted to 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Paving limits extend from the Fire Station to just past the Wood Street intersection. The paving area also will include a short section of each street that intersects with Main Street.

Any driveways in the paving area will not be accessible while the paving machine passes and the pavement cools. Amorello recommends that residents should move any vehicles they might need out of the project area before 7 a.m. on Monday.

Amorello may remain in the project area through the remainder of the week for winter preparation.

Weather and other existing conditions may change the projected work schedule. For the most up-to-date information, visit the town’s project website at hopkintonmainstreet.com.

It’s amazing that the town gave one days notice to the homes and businesses along this stretch of Main Street. Shame on the town once again. This mess can’t end quick enough.

Seems crazy to me that paving is done in cold weather. It’s basically asking for a re-do next summer – and, of course, more spending of taxpayer money.
