I’m writing to endorse Sandra Irwin for School Committee.
I first met Sandra at a Hopkinton Moms Group meeting just a few weeks after her young family moved to town. We quickly connected over similar career paths, children close in age and a shared goal of getting back into running. While I casually agreed to a future running meetup, Sandra took it seriously — she found me on Facebook, got my number and had a plan and meeting time set for the very next weekend.
I share this story because, over the last 3 1/2 years, I’ve come to see that this is exactly who Sandra is: When she commits to something, she follows through. She is thoughtful, proactive and deeply dedicated to the people and causes she cares about. It was during one of our runs this winter that she first shared with me her idea of running for School Committee, and I knew immediately she would bring the same energy, preparation and commitment to the role.
I especially admire Sandra’s strong sense of community, her willingness to step up and serve and her ability to advocate for all students and families. She listens carefully, works collaboratively and genuinely wants what is best for Hopkinton.
I hope the town of Hopkinton will join me in supporting Sandra Irwin for School Committee and see in her what I’m fortunate to see as her friend.
