Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.
Board of Health, School Committee positions contested in Town Election

Town Clerk Connor Degan is hoping for a fair turnout at Town Election today.
“I’m hoping we’ll break 10% of our [total of registered voters],” he remarked. “Even more than that will be fantastic.”
There is some anticipation for election turnout to be on the lower side this year. There are only two formally contested races — one for the Board of Health and the other for the School Committee. As well, there are no ballot initiatives, which Degan said usually draw more voters to the polls.
For the Board of Health, incumbent and current chair Nasiba Mannan is facing off against Dimitry Zuckerman for the one available board seat. For the School Committee, current chair Kyla McSweeney is vying for one of two available seats along with Sandra Irwin and Sravana Krishna.
Another feature of this year’s Town Election is a race between two write-in candidates for constable. Jason Watson and Daniel Harvey are vying for the seat, and both appeared at the Meet the Candidates Night late last month to make their pitches to voters.
“It’s good … you have folks step up to the plate when they see there’s a need,” Degan said of the write-in campaigns.
The following residents are running for the uncontested positions:
- Incumbent Adam Munroe for Board of Assessors
- Incumbents Warren Carter and Jessica McCaffrey for Board of Library Trustees
- Regina Miloslavsky for Cemetery Commission and Commissioners of Trust Funds
- Incumbent John Morris for Housing Authority
- Brad Fenn and Lynn Taylor for Parks & Recreation Commission
- Incumbent Rob Benson and Brian Johnson for Planning Board
- Incumbent Amy Ritterbusch for Select Board
Town Election will take place from 7 a.m.-8 p.m. at Hopkinton Middle School’s Brown Gym.
