
Nancy Ring
Nancy J. Ring, 83, of Westborough and formerly of Hopkinton and Southborough, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026. Born in Framingham, Nancy was the beloved daughter of the late Stuart H. Merrifield and Doris (Wright) Merrifield. She was the devoted wife of the late David Ring.
Nancy was raised in Hopkinton, where she developed a lifelong love of books and reading. She found great joy in sharing that passion while working at the Hopkinton Public Library. She also dedicated more than 20 years of service as an executive secretary at Natick Laboratories, where she was respected for her professionalism, dedication and strong work ethic.
Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Susan Taranto and husband Mark of Westborough, and Tammey White and husband Richard of Florida. She also is survived by brother Frank Merrifield and wife Dorothy of Loganville, Georgia; sister Lois Hansen of Danvers; several cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. In addition to her parents and husband, Nancy was predeceased by brother Wayne Merrifield of Hopkinton.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 11, from 4-6 p.m. at Chesmore Funeral Home of Hopkinton. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 6 p.m. Burial will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 10:30 a.m. at Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute at dana-farber.org. Nancy’s love for her family, her quiet strength, and her kind heart will be remembered always by those who knew and loved her.
