DPW’s December white metal day moved up to Dec. 18

by | Dec 13, 2021 | News

UPDATE, Dec. 17: Due to the forecasted snowstorm, Saturday’s scheduled white metal day at 66 Fruit Street will have reduced hours, running from 7 a.m.-noon.

Due to Christmas falling on the last Saturday of the month, the Department of Public Works’ December white metal disposal day will be held one week earlier.

Residents can drop off white metals (stoves, washers, water heaters, etc.) on Saturday, Dec. 18, from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. at the DPW facility at 66 Fruit Street.

Air conditioners, refrigerators and freezers are not among the acceptable items due to federal regulations concerning the release of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs).

Computer monitors, televisions and microwaves are not accepted at white metal disposal but can be taken to the recycling center on Saturdays between 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m.

Residents wishing to dispose of items not accepted by the town can contact E.L. Harvey and Sons at 800-836-3000.

For more information, visit the DPW web page at the town’s website.
