Town looks to fill vacancies on multiple boards, committees
The town is looking for volunteers to fill vacancies that have opened up on a number of boards and committees.
The Town Manager’s Office recently sent out a notice to residents with detailed information on boards that are in need of members. There are 17 total vacancies across nine committees. These include the Historical Commission, the Zoning Advisory Committee, the Cultural Council and others.
Most of the open positions do not require specialized knowledge or skill to serve. However, there are special qualifications for residents serving on the Water & Sewer Advisory Board. The town is looking for residents with backgrounds in public utilities or experience in environmental science, civil engineering or public health.
Most committee members must be appointed by the Select Board. More detailed information about all of the town’s boards and committees can be found here. All applicants must fill out an application form on the town’s website. Those who have questions can contact executive assistant to the town manager Vasudha Dutta at 508-497-9701.
