Hopkinton Today for Wednesday, Nov. 20: Kilduff steps down from Chamber of Commerce

by | Nov 20, 2024 | Featured: Features, Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

Kilduff focusing on Marathon Center after relinquishing Chamber of Commerce role

In its most recent newsletter, the Hopkinton Chamber of Commerce announced its executive director, Tim Kiliduff, is stepping down.

“After too many years of commitment and service to count, the time has come for [Kilduff] to step down from his role with us and shift his focus 100% to his passion project, the 26.2 Foundation, and bringing the International Marathon Center to life,” the chamber stated in its newsletter.

In an interview with the Independent, Kilduff stated his departure from the chamber will allow him to focus on bringing the International Marathon Center (IMC) project closer to fruition.

Kilduff serves as president of the 26.2 Foundation, the organization driving the IMC project.

“The IMC has tremendous economic upside for the community and region,” said Kilduff, “but the reality of raising funds for a $30 million facility is going to take a lot of time and energy.”

“There’s only so much time in a day,” he added.

Kilduff shared that his departure from the Chamber of Commerce also would allow younger members the opportunity to step up and lead.

“We have some really quality people who are on the board of directors,” he said. “It’s now time for them to take over the leadership reins.”

Added Kilduff: “The chamber’s in good hands.”
