I want to share with the community an incident of kindness that happened on Saturday before Easter in front of my house on Sanctuary Lane. I was in my driveway, cleaning out my car. I was nearly done. Suddenly, I was approached by a young woman, dressed as a runner, who walked toward me. I have no idea who she was. She simply asked me if I needed any help! Just like that. She had seen me working in my driveway and wondered if I could use a hand. I told her, “Thank you, but no, I [am] almost done.” She simply smiled and went on her way. Again, I had no idea who she was, but I was deeply impressed by her offer to help. It gives me renewed hope that the coming generation may in fact know what is important in life — kindness to strangers, offers to help others who are older and may need some assistance, with no expectation of reward. I hope this young lady continues in her kindness, whoever she was.
