I would like to write in support of diverse voices on our School Committee. I personally believe that mask mandates should be left up to our Board of Health. I, though, fully support Joe Markey and Meg Tyler’s right to pursue a mask-optional policy for our schools. It’s fantastic that we have a vigorous debate and different opinions. I believe that we benefit from being inclusive and listening to varied opinions rather than taking legal action against people who are willing to speak up. I worry that potential School Committee members would be intimidated to ask tough questions and represent the interests of their constituents.
