Letter to the Editor: Support for Batlle-Rafferty, Ritterbusch

by | Jun 24, 2020 | Letter to Editor

It is with pleasure that I endorse Lya Batlle-Rafferty for School Committee.  Lya and I have served on the Board of Assessors together since 2017, and I have seen first-hand her dedication to the town and commitment to elected office. Lya is a thoughtful decision maker who takes the time to evaluate issues with both data and compassion in order to best support our residents. She will bring this same discerning approach to the School Committee as we face the challenges of maintaining our outstanding schools within our financial means. Additionally, Lya is a positive, authentic, high-integrity individual who serves for the sole purpose of strengthening our town.  Please join me in voting for Lya Batlle-Rafferty for Hopkinton School Committee.

I happily express my support for Amy Ritterbusch for Select Board. Amy and I met four years ago, and we had a brief discussion about eHop and how it came to fruition. What immediately impressed me about Amy was that she not only wanted to be informed but also wanted to help others be informed in order to strengthen our community. She has served on the Planning Board and Historic District Commission in this vein by being prepared, sourcing and sharing objective information and making thoughtful decisions. Her informative approach, collaborative leadership and strength of character that uplifts people are the reasons why I am voting for Amy Ritterbusch for Hopkinton Select Board.

— Lesley A. Ficari, Hopkinton
